2nd round of the wine evaluation competition of the association Great Wines of Great Vineyards

On Friday 24th January the announced 2nd round of the Wine Evaluation Competition of the association Velká vína velkých vinice, z.s. took place. Fifteen evaluators divided into two committees had the task of evaluating 28 samples. Eight samples of white wines and twenty red wines were in the tasting glasses.

The subject of the evaluation were both classic varieties of Sylvan Green, Muller Thurgau and white Cuvée. In the red wines, the Pinot Noir variety – supported within the hierarchy of the association – was strongly represented with 6 samples. Three Merlots and two samples each of Franconia and Cabernet Sauvignon also fought for a place in the wine cellar. At the end of the red wine evaluation, the Cuvée of blue varieties dominated.

Achieving a minimum of 88 points gives the producer of such a wine the chance to exhibit and offer it in the wine cellar at the Chateau Valtice for the whole season of 2025.
